Step 0: Identify what you want

We take care to discuss what you need above all else. We assess the state of the cabinetry and what process we will need to ensure a successful coating.

Step 1: Cabinets need to be Cleaned

It's important we identify potential contamination with cooking oils, citrus cleaners, or any other residue on the surface.

Step 2: Create the booth

The booth is an environment we can control. This is the key to producing a flawless finish. This involves your masking AND

Step 3: Select a primer

No single primer does everything we want to do. Based on your cabinets, we choose a primer that performs to specification.

Step 4: Sand and Fill

We use light to our advantage and fill dings, nicks, or even the wood grain itself if desired. We want to ensure a smooth and uniform surface.

Step 5: Climate control

We need to ventilate and control the temperature in our booth. This ensures quick and consistent curing.

Step 6: Spray finish

We apply a minimum of two coats of your desired color. Sanding between coats is done where needed.

Step 7: Reassemble

We bring the doors and shelves back from our shop booth and rehang/realign your doors.

Frequently asked questions

How long will painting my cabinets take?

A minimum of 3 days for a bathroom and as long as 5-6 days for a kitchen. Everything is dependent on size and technicality. Cabinet painting happens in steps, we can'tt advance until the previous is completed.

How much does cabinet painting cost?

We typically charge around $150-200 per door. It'sts a good rule of thumb for a standard service.

What kind of paint do you use?

We use Sherwin Williams Gallery Series. It is the best cabinet paint that's available in a one-part water-based system. It's also Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) certified.

What primers do you use?

We use primers based on need. We employ both water and solvent based primers depending on need for stain blocking, sanding ability, grain filling, and bonding properties.

Is all the spraying done at my home/property?

No, we do bring all cabinet doors and shelves to our spray booth in our shop. It's there that we have the most control over the spray and prep environment. Preinstalled cabinet boxes must be done on site.
