FAQs

Questions we get about our process and what sets us apart

Not all Epoxy Floors are the same. There are many different chemical compositions for different conditions.

Every floor needs a surface grind prior to preparation. This removes the top layer of weather damage, staining, and calcium carbonate formation.

Acid etching with muriatic acid doesn't consistently open up pores in the concrete the way grinding does. The acid interactions with oil stains, potential sealers, and spots of bare concrete are not all uniform. Grinding provides a fresh uniform concrete surface for high performance finishes.

Yes, there is. Surface cracks should be ground out, filled with 2-part epoxy, and ground smooth to the surface. Slabs were moisture seeps through require a different higher performance primer that can withstand higher vapor pressure from the water.

We have a handful of different floor primer colors that will provide a nice backdrop to your chip coat. There are many blends of chips, and we typically recommend 1/4" sizing for the best look.
